CUMMING, Ga. — A theft by deception was reported July 28 from the 3200 block of Castleberry Village Drive, according to a Forsyth County Sheriff's incident report.
At 5:15 p.m., the complainant reported he previously gave a friend $386 in cash to purchase and install carpet on a boat.
The suspect had said he knew a company that could do it. But after lying on numerous occasions, the suspect admitted he used the money for himself on other things.
The complainant demanded reimbursement, which the suspect had yet to repay at the time of the report. The case was referred to Magistrate Court.
