Thieves break into five cars


Purses, prescription drugs taken

FORSYTH COUNTY, Ga. – Thieves robbed five cars in Cumming and one in Alpharetta, taking purses and prescription drugs according to local authorities.

The first car was entered between 3 p.m. and 11 p.m. June 7 at a Kentucky Fried Chicken parking lot, 695 Atlanta Highway in Cumming. The thief stole some clothes and a purse with a driver's license, identification cards and a debit card. The car was unlocked.

In Cumming's Charleston Park, a thief broke into a white Ford F-150 on June 15 and stole a purse containing Vyvanse pills, a checkbook, $7 in cash and a bank card.

The thief later wrote a check to buy pizza from Papa John's, but so far, no suspects have been identified.

The other robbery occurred in Alpharetta between 4 p.m. June 18 and 8:30 a.m. June 19 in the 300 block of Huntington Circle.

The thief rummaged through a car's pocketbook, extracting Tramadol tablets as well as taking $3 from the cup holder.

At about 8:30 p.m. June 21, a thief took a purse from a car parked in Cumming's West Bank Overlook Park.

The purse contained jewelry worth more than $750 as well as two wallets valued at $90. Three purchases were made from credit cards in the purse at a Citgo in Buford, a Marathon in Buford and a McDonald's in Duluth.

Another theft was in the 6100 block of Vickery Creek Road in Cumming. Between 8 p.m. June 21 and 9 a.m. June 22, a thief entered an unlocked 2008 Honda Odyssey and took a pair of glasses, a Leatherman multi-tools and a handicap sticker.

The theft is valued at $175.

The last car entered in Cumming was at 920 Market Place Boulevard, Cumming Police said. A 1997 Honda Passport parked behind Home Depot was robbed between 9 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. June 24. The thief slid a broken back window halfway down and stole the victim's purse. It contained debit cards, Social Security cards of the victim and victim's children, a driver's license, phone charger and keys to the victim's home.

The theft is valued at $63.
