Vandals cut sign wires, steal batteries

Cumming, Ga. – A vandal cut wires and stole two batteries out of an electronic traffic sign in the 400 block of Atlanta Highway at Orchard Circle, according to a Cumming Police Department incident report.

Sometime between 7 p.m. Oct. 25 and 9 a.m. Oct. 26, a C.W. Matthews highway construction company employee said someone caused the damage to the sign. There were two batteries and several cut wires stolen out of the sign. The estimated cost of repairs is about $400.
