CUMMING, Ga. Twice each year, Forsyth Literacy hosts a Scrabble competition to raise funds for its GED scholarship program. In the past, Forsyth Literacy has raised enough money to provide 10 scholarships to help people take their high school equivalency exams.

This summer's event will be July 12 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Lanier Tech Conference Center. It's $15 for each individual to play.

Participants can play in pairs or alone in a very recreational atmosphere.

Each player will participate in two games of Scrabble and receive a free lunch.

And of course, there are prizes for the winners.

For more information, call 770-876-2011 or visit literacyforsyth.com.
