CUMMING, Ga. — The latest exhibit at the library on the University of North Georgia's Cumming campus combines the traditional art of cross-stitch embroidery with the technologies of mobile computing and video.
The exhibit, created by Didi Dunphy, is on display through Feb. 28.
When scanned with a smartphone or tablet, each of Dunphy's embroidered QR codes links to a Web-based video, also created by the artist.
Dunphy will give an artist talk at 11 a.m. Feb. 6.
"My video work is designed for handheld devices in a landscape format, and each video pushes hue and saturation and has duration suitable for the venue of a mobile phone," Dunphy said.
Dunphy and her work have been featured in Southern Living, the Atlanta Journal-Constitution, Elle Décor, Vogue Living and two design books.
