FORSYTH COUNTY, Ga. — A sophomore at Lambert High School was the lead in the ballet production of "Coppelia."
The Atlanta Professional Dance Academy presented the complete ballet production at Gwinnett Performing Arts Center on Oct. 20.
Debby Song, 15, was cast as the lead female role in "Coppelia."
Song has been dancing since the age of 5 and has performed many major lead roles and solos, such as "Sleeping Beauty," "The Nutcracker" and "Swan Lake."
In 2011, she participated in the International Dance Challenge and won first place in the ethnic folklore category. In 2013, she received first place in the 14-15 age solo pointe category and overall third runner up at nationals.
Song was invited to dance for the national Trumpet Awards, the Georgia Women of the Year Awards and the Atlanta Panda Festival.
