MILTON, Ga. Sixty-five active and retired service men and women took part in the annual Birdies for the Brave golf outing Nov. 10 at White Columns Country Club in Milton.

During the annual event, military guests received complementary lessons, club fittings and rounds of golf, in addition to joining the more than 150 golfers participating in the annual golf tournament.

The tournament got off to an exciting start when a four-member jump team delivered an American flag to the course that was presented by a local color guard.

Birdies for the Brave is nationwide program launched by the U.S. Department of Defense that generates financial support for members of the military and their families, and communicates that support to members of the armed forces at home and abroad.
