FORSYTH COUNTY, Ga. — A public hearing regarding proposed changes to the Forsyth County Unified Development Code will take place at 6:30 p.m., Nov. 26.
Forsyth County Planning Commission will hold a public hearing. Changes will be presented and proposed regarding the Buford Highway Overlay District and modifications pertaining to site plan minimum requirements, as well as procedures for postponing public hearings and to receive public comment concerning these draft modifications.
The purpose of overlay districts established by the Unified Development Code is to conserve natural resources or realize development objectives without disturbing the expectations for development allowed by the existing zoning district provisions applicable to particular properties.
The existing zoning district provisions may properly regulate the relevant district, in general, but more specific and targeted provisions contained in an overlay district are needed to accomplish pressing land use objectives. All residents and any other affected or interested persons are invited and encouraged to attend.
This hearing will be held in the Forsyth County Administration Building, 110 East Main Street, Suite 220 (on second floor), Cumming.
