Forsyth Central's 'Macbeth' promises scary good entertainment

October 16, 2013
CUMMING, Ga. — Instead of sitting at home passing out candy this Halloween, Forsyth Central High School is inviting the community to its spooky production of Shakespeare's "Macbeth."

In the spirit of Halloween, theater-goers are encouraged to dress up for the Oct. 31 performance, where prizes will be awarded for the most creative costumes.

Adam Pingel, "Macbeth" director, said the show is a perfect Halloween night activity full of sword play, tricks and special effects, including holographic images of the actors portraying ghosts.

"The show will be exciting to watch from an audience standpoint," Pingel said.

In addition to the 7 p.m. performance on Halloween, the show also runs at 7 p.m., Thursday, Oct. 24 and 6:30 p.m., Friday, Oct. 25 at the school, 520 Tribble Gap Road.

Although the play typically runs more than two hours, Central's production is condensed to a one-act, one-hour show.

The school plans to perform this at the Georgia High School Regional One-Act Play Competition on Oct. 26, where they won last year with their production of "Roshomon."

Advanced tickets are on sale for $10 adults and $5 for students. Visit www.forsythcentralstage.com/now-showing.html or buy tickets at the door the night of each performance.
