FORSYTH COUNTY, Ga. — LeadingAge Georgia recently honored Florence Korom, a Forsyth County Senior Services volunteer, during the Oct. 2 Profiles of Positive Aging Image Awards and Gala Luncheon in Atlanta.
Korom was one of the 17 inspiring seniors from throughout Georgia to be honored with this award.
The award recipients were recognized for making a difference and exemplifying positive aging.
For 15 years, Korom has volunteered with Forsyth County Senior Services' Alzheimer's Respite Program, also known as the Sunshine Club. She has also volunteered with the Meals on Wheels program.
Volunteering up to 28 hours a week, Korom makes every effort to support clients in their participation and engages them to do as much as they can for themselves.
"As we travel through life," Korom said, "true happiness can only be achieved by helping others."
