May 21, 2013ALPHARETTA, Ga. – The weekend of May 17 and 18 was a busy one for Verizon Wireless Amphitheatre at Encore Park with five performers delighting crowds at the outdoor venue.
On Friday, May 17, folk rock band the Avett Brothers performed with Old Crow Medicine Show. In 2001, banjoist Scott Avett and guitarist Seth Avett formed the Avett Brothers with standup bass player Bob Crawford to create a group that has met with critical acclaim.
The next night, country star Darius Rucker, formerly of Hootie and the Blowfish, lit up the stage and was joined by Justin Moore and Jana Kramer for a rocking, stomping time at Verizon. Rucker’s second album, “Charleston, S.C. 1966,” followed up his initial offering, “Learn to Live,” an album that produced three consecutive No. 1 singles and Top 5 smash, “History in the Making.” His newest album, "True Believers," was just released.
