ALPHARETTA, Ga. – A contractor was hit April 26 by a falling tree limb he was cutting down. He died of his wounds at North Fulton Hospital.

According to a report by the Alpharetta Public Safety Department, Misael Soriano Elorza, 41, of Doraville, was working as part of a crew removing trees on Preston Ridge Road, near the YMCA building. As the tree was falling, a limb hit Elorza in the head, causing him to fall into a nearby creek. His safety helmet was cracked by the impact.

Paramedics arrived and transported him to North Fulton Hospital where he later died of his injuries.
