April 17, 2013FORSYTH COUNTY, Ga. —The Brookwood Elementary PTA/Brookwood Farmers' Market is gearing up to bring fresh produce and goods to the community.
This event takes place 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. starting May 17 and every Friday through September in Caney Creek Preserve Park, 2755 Caney Road, west of the intersection of Caney Road and Brookwood Road in south Forsyth.
With the support of the Brookwood ES PTA and local farmers and growers, this local farmers' market serving South Forsyth, North Fulton and North Gwinnett is headed to kick off their new season right at their new location
"Now that we are settled in in our new home at Caney Creek Preserve we can focus on recruiting more vendors and organizing more events," said Kelly Walczak, market manager.
The website has undergone some improvements as well. Vendors now benefit from an online application and online stall payment is in the works. The changes are all efforts to make it easier to recruit and support vendors.
The Brookwood Farmers' Market is growing each year in vendors, notoriety and popularity. The growth and success is achieved thanks to a driven and focused team of volunteers dedicated to making a difference.
"We launched the BFM to support locally grown movement in our area," said Walczak. "This benefits our local farmers, small businesses and our local economy. Beyond that, it is the right thing to do for our environment."
In addition to the shaded playground, dog park, and walking trails at Caney Creek Preserve, the market will also offer weekly kids' activities in order to give parents the opportunity to stroll and shop and enjoy the sights and sounds of an outstanding local market.
