Boulder Dash 5K returns to Forsyth County April 13

FORSYTH COUNTY, Ga. — Runners and walkers will be challenged by one of two quarry races in the U.S.

The fourth annual Boulder Dash 5k returns at 9 a.m. April 13

Organized by the Healthcare Association of Forsyth County, an initiative of the Cumming-Forsyth County Chamber of Commerce, the course for Boulder Dash 2013, 5K Run/Walk, will wind its way into Bluegrass Materials Company, Cumming quarry.

This is the fourth time the race will be held in the operational hard rock quarry.

The last day to register online is Thursday, April 11.

Proceeds benefit the Forsyth County Parks and Recreation and the "Envision a Fit Forsyth" program.

The race will start at Northside Hospital Forsyth and will continue up Ronald Reagan Boulevard and into the quarry.

At the finish line, Bluegrass Materials Company will host the Spring Fling inside the quarry property. Tents are on sale for businesses who would like their company to be seen by hundreds of families in the community.

The Spring Fling will be complete with live music, food and beverages, family activities and educational displays showing how the quarry operates.

All participants who pre-register receive a performance shirt at the finish line.
