January 09, 2013 JOHNS CREEK, Ga. – The Fulton County Board of Commissioners has appointed Johns Creek resident Steve Broadbent to the Fulton County Development Authority. Broadbent, who was nominated by District 3 (Johns Creek) Commissioner Liz Hausmann, replaces John Dorris who is stepping down.
Broadbent is a former deputy assistant secretary to the U.S. Department of the Treasury and spent 22 years in the U.S. Navy and Naval Reserves. Today, he is a managing director with Fulcrum Partners, a benefits consulting firm.
He also ran for the Johns Creek City Council and was defeated in a runoff with Brad Raffensperger.
Broadbent's educational qualifications include a master's degree in public policy from the George Washington University, an MBA from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, and a bachelor's degree in nuclear engineering from the University of Virginia.
"The Development Authority will certainly benefit from Mr. Broadbent's insights. His perspective on the financial and technology industries will be particularly important for future economic development opportunities in Fulton County," said Hausmann.
