December 26, 2012NORTH FULTON, Ga. – The Milton Boy Scout District, comprised by the cities of Roswell, Alpharetta, Johns Creek and Milton, announced five new Eagle Scouts passed their Board of Review Nov. 29.
Scouts Dylan Patel, Benjamin Horne, Harrison Williams, Kyle Plunkett and Preston Oakes all received their Eagle badges.
Patel of Troop 10, sponsored by St. Benedict's Catholic Church, chose as his project the construction of a new animal shelter at High Meadows Middle School.
Horne of Troop 2206, sponsored by St. James United Methodist Church, selected the project to restore and map the Pineview Cemetery in Alpharetta. He also placed the entire cemetery plot survey on the Alpharetta Historical Society website.
Williams of Troop 430, sponsored by St. David's Episcopal Church, built an outdoor sanctuary at St. David's Episcopal Church. This included the construction of eight IPE style benches.
Plunkett of Troop 429, sponsored by Alpharetta Presbyterian Church, chose as a project the planning, organization leadership of a blood drive, using Life South Community Blood Center. He was responsible for attracting 34 donors.
Preston Oakes of Troop 317, sponsored by Perimeter Church, decided he would build a split rail fence along the perimeter of the outdoor auditorium at Autrey Mill Nature Preserve and Heritage Center.
