December 19, 2012 FORSYTH COUNTY, Ga. – After ornaments are removed from the Christmas tree, Keep Forsyth County Beautiful (KFCB) is inviting residents to recycle their trees at numerous locations throughout the county during the "Bring One for the Chipper" Christmas tree recycling event from Dec. 26 through Jan. 26. A wood chipper at the locations will process the trees into mulch.
Forsyth County residents annually conclude the holiday season by recycling thousands of Christmas trees during the event. Last year alone, residents recycled 8,710 trees.
"We are very excited to see the number of trees recycled in Forsyth County increasing every year," said Environmental Program Manager Tammy Wright. "It is a win-win scenario – the program provides a convenient way for residents to dispose of their tree, and recycling the trees is good for the environment."
Christmas trees can be dropped off at the following locations:
• Home Depot – 1000 Market Place Boulevard
• Home Depot – 2635 Peachtree Parkway
Both locations will be accepting trees from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Jan. 5 only. No trees will be accepted at these sites after 4 p.m. Jan. 5.
