December 12, 2012 MILTON, Ga. The Milton Boy Scout District, encompassing the cities of Roswell, Alpharetta, Johns Creek and Milton, announced Nov. 24 its newest Eagle Scout, Calvin Rogowski, who passed his Board of Review.
Rogowski is a member of Troop 429, sponsored by Alpharetta Presbyterian Church. His project was the collection of backpacks and tote bags that would contain personal items such as a baseball cap, rain poncho, toothbrush, toothpaste, small umbrella, M-XXL long-sleeve shirt, hand sanitizer, soap and sunscreen for the Atlanta Day Shelter for Women and Children, Inc. The Atlanta Day Shelter for Women provides homeless women and their children an opportunity to take a shower, have a meal and get counseling.
Rogowski collected enough materials to fill over 50 backpacks/totes as well as to donate $752.73 to the shelter. View images.
