ALPHARETTA, Ga. – The 35th annual Christmas Tree Lighting shut down Milton Avenue Nov. 30 as the street was packed with party-goers and families ready to watch the holiday tradition. The large tree at the corner of Milton Avenue and Ga. 9 was again the highlight of the evening as it came alive with lights to the thousands of Alpharetta residents who turned out for the show.

Mayor David Belle Isle and his family continued tradition by reading “’Twas the Night Before Christmas.”

This year, the show was put on by the city with the help of North Point Community Church, which has a history of hosting large and exciting shows. Live bands, elves, two stages and plenty of cheer were on offer.

Santa and Mrs. Claus arrived at the end, brought by all the Christmas cheer and had children sit on their knees to tell Santa all about their Christmas wishes.
