CUMMING, Ga. — Reaping Nature Educational Outreach Foundation, a Forsyth County nonprofit organization, announced its America Recycles Day contest winners at a book fair benefitting the organization at the Barnes and Noble at the Avenue Forsyth on Saturday, Nov. 17.

"We received 56 contest entries from kids," said Denise Carleton, Reaping Nature's executive director. "We love the thought and creativity that the kids put into their entries. It makes picking winners an extremely hard task."

Six top winners in first, second and third place were announced, as well as 10 runners up. First place winners included Tiffany Lee and Carolyn Forrester.

Two of the runners up, Hanna Alhin and Aiden Manalastas, were selected by Barnes and Noble as winners.

The children received prizes donated by Premier Surplus, a local electronics recycler, Reaping Nature and Barnes and Noble.

Reaping Nature holds two contests annually – one in April for Earth Day and one in November for America Recycles Day.

"Our contests are a way to promote environmental stewardship in young people while increasing recycling, litter prevention and water conservation awareness in everyone," said Carleton.
