November 29, 2012 NORTH FULTON, Ga. The Milton Boy Scout District comprised of the cities of Roswell, Alpharetta, Johns Creek and Milton announced its newest Eagle Scouts, who passed their Board of Review Sept 27.
These Scouts from Alpharetta and Roswell completed projects that included improvements for a nonprofit organization, enhancements for a local high school and improvements to a church's grounds.
Henry Barnes of Troop 429, sponsored by Alpharetta Presbyterian Church, chose a project to construct and install 18 modular shelving units for Jacob's Ladder. This nonprofit organization is dedicated to helping children who have been diagnosed with a form of developmental delay such as autism and Down syndrome.
Preston Hinkel of Troop 429, sponsored by Alpharetta Presbyterian Church, had a project to construct and install six 8-foot wooden picnic tables for the courtyard of Milton High School.
Matthew Proctor of Troop 429, sponsored by Alpharetta Presbyterian Church, worked to improve the collection of children's books for the nonprofit organization Reading Tree. Proctor collected 1,145 books.
Samuel Losh of Troop 985, sponsored by Northbrook United Methodist Church, decided on a project to build a free-standing deck which serves as a stage for the outdoor activity area at Northbrook United Methodist Church
Samuel Miller, of Troop 985, sponsored by Northbrook United Methodist Church, chose to build two outdoor arbors at the entranceway of Northbrook United Methodist Church's playground as well as a potting bench to store gardening supplies for the preschool. View images.
