November 28, 2012MILTON, Ga. — Ashleigh McClure was chosen as the 2013 Miss Milton to compete for the title of Miss Teen Georgia in the 2013 Miss Teen USA pageant.
Chosen as a contestant for the Miss Teen Georgia competition in the summer of 2012, McClure has been preparing since then for the upcoming pageant.
She is being coached and mentored by multiple veterans of the Miss USA pageant from Georgia, including a previous winner and runner up. They are helping her with everything from swimsuit and gown selection to walking, interview techniques and showing off her guitar playing during the talent portion of the pageant.
McClure is one of 80 contestants around the state competing for the title of Miss Teen Georgia.
As a winner, McClure would spend a year representing the state and go on to compete in the Miss Teen USA national competition.
If she were to be crowned Miss Teen USA, McClure would spend a year in New York City at Trump Tower and work one on one with the 2013 Miss USA all over the world.
"It is truly an honor to compete in the state competition for the Georgia Miss Teen USA title," said McClure. "If chosen, I will represent the Milton area and Georgia with pride."
As Miss Teen USA, McClure hopes to inspire kids around the world to become involved with their community and support causes that are important to them.
McClure, herself, supports the "Songs for Kids Foundation" which aims to bring artists together to perform for sick children in hospitals around the country.
