FORSYTH COUNTY, Ga. — At their meeting Nov. 15, the Forsyth County Board of Commissioners recognized two teams from Lambert High School for their accomplishments.
Commissioners presented resolutions to both the Lambert High School boys' varsity lacrosse team and Lambert High School boys' varsity soccer team.
The Lambert boys' varsity lacrosse team finished their 2012 season with a record of 22-0 and has the longest active varsity winning streak in the nation at 42-0. The team is ranked No. 1 in Georgia and includes three All-American players and six All-State players. On May 19, the team defeated Pope High School in the Georgia High School Association Class AAAA finals and became the 2012 Georgia state champions.
The Lambert boys' varsity soccer team finished their 2012 season with a record of 23-0 and shut out their opponents in 16 of their 23 games. The team is ranked No. 1 nationally and is the 2012 regional and Forsyth County champions.
On May 18, the team defeated Greenbrier High School in the Georgia High School Association Class AAAA finals and became the 2012 Georgia state champions.
