FORSYTH COUNTY, Ga. — Local shores are a lot cleaner after more than a hundred volunteers collected about 200 pounds of debris from along local waterways during the Nov. 3 Keep Forsyth County Beautiful Rivers Alive clean-up event.
During the event, more than 120 volunteers worked to collect 75 bags of trash from 11 different areas along Lake Lanier and local creeks.
"We are appreciative of all of the volunteers who came out to make a difference in our community and the environment," Environmental Program Manager Tammy Wright said.
Wright also extended a special thanks to the city of Cumming for providing food for the volunteers.
