MILTON, Ga. – Crabapple was filled with Halloween fun Oct. 28 for the third annual Carvin' in Crabapple pumpkin contest.

Beginning at Just for Giggles art studio, children could paint or carve their pumpkins in all sorts of spooky and creepy ways – ghosts and pirates, as well as haunted houses and mummies. Clowns, zebras and dogs (and one Georgia Dawg) were all part of the event.

Nearly 40 pumpkins were set out along Crabapple Road in front of Scoops Ice Cream Parlor for judging based on spookiest, scariest and most original entries.

"It was the largest turnout we've had yet," said Peyton Jamison, the organizer and president of Crabapple Community Association. "We're thrilled."

As the third year for the event, Jamison said it's now established as part of the Crabapple feel.

"It is set in stone. This will be an event we hold every year," he said. "It's extremely important that the residents and the businesses all work together. That's the feel we want for the Crabapple community."

The next holiday event in Crabapple will be Christmas in Crabapple on Dec. 1.
