October 17, 2012CUMMING, Ga. — For the second year Harry Norman Realtors Forsyth/Lake Lanier office proudly sponsored a mile marker for It's The Journey "Do the 2" Walk for Breast Cancer.
The event took place Oct. 6 and 7 in Atlanta.
This was the 10th Anniversary of this great event where their motto is "the money raised here in Georgia, stays in Georgia." Funds go to support programs like Northside Hospitals' Screening Mammography and Diagnostic Services Project serving uninsured women, especially those living in Dawson, Hall, Lumpkin and other outlying counties.
Associate Broker Dana K. Wachsmann walked the 2 days and 30 miles last year and served on the bike support and crew this year. "I am doing this to honor my best friend and hero Cindy Bearden Gwynn who also was one of my primary mortgage partners for the past 20 years. She lost her battle with breast cancer in January, 2011."
"It seems that no one is untouched by this disease. Now my oldest friend from high school days and my 96 year old neighbor are battling breast cancer. While there are so many deserving charities, one is forced to choose where you make the most individual impact. It makes sense to me to support local charities that assist those in need close to home."
Robert Aiken, Managing Broker said, "We are proud to be involved in an event that supports such a great cause." We appreciate the added support from our family of services partner, Campbell and Brannon Attorneys at Law, who also sponsored a mile marker for this year's event.
Also to show ongoing support for the cause, Ms. Wachsmann has dedicated 5% of commissions earned from any transaction where clients reference the walk.
