Alpharetta Farmers Market vendors lined the streets with breads, candles and cake pops, sharing space with face painters, food vendors and activity stations.
Children spent the day talking to scarecrows on stilts, crafting and participating in games.
The main event was the scarecrow contest.
Participants from about 100 elementary classes around Alpharetta entered scarecrows in all shapes and sizes, as Main Street was filled with the renditions of book characters, going green themes and movie-inspired scarecrows.
Winners received prizes from Harry's Farmers Market, Chick Fil-A, Jilly's Cupcakery, JRM Management Services, Kona Ice, Pediatric Center at Northside Alpharetta, Rita's Italian Ice, Roswell Urgent Care Center, ZPizza and Bagel Boys.
