October 10, 2012 ALPHARETTA, Ga. — The Alpharetta Rotary Club donated $250 on behalf of Paula Benson, who will be walking in the Susan G. Komen Walk for Breast Cancer in memory of her friend, Michelle Michaels.
Michaels battled breast cancer for six-and-a-half years before losing her battle. Participating in this walk gives Benson and others like her the opportunity to raise funds to support the fight against breast cancer. Participants will cover approximately 60 miles during the three-day walk, which will be held in Atlanta Oct. 19-21. For more information about the walk, visit www.the3day.org.
"We are proud to support such a worthy organization and of the work and dedication of Paula to its cause," said Bill Weeks, president of Rotary Club of Alpharetta.
