ROSWELL, Ga. – HomeStretch will be one of 18 nonprofit organizations participating in the Atlanta Track Club's 2012 Adopt a Marathon Mile program Oct. 30. HomeStretch provides homeless families in north metro Atlanta with the support necessary to lead more self-sustainable lives.
In the race, HomeStretch will "adopt" a mile of the marathon to provide water and support to the runners in exchange for a donation to the organization.
The Atlanta Track Club will award bonus points to the most enthusiastic organizations in exchange for extra donations.
The race will last from 7:15 a.m. to 10:15 a.m. Volunteers are welcome to become cheerleaders, bring their families and dress up for extra enjoyment.
