FORSYTH COUNTY, Ga. – Just up Ga. 9 at the Lakewood 400 Antiques Market, an explosion of fabric and color is waiting. The Chattahoochee Evening Stars Quilt Guild returns with its biannual Stars 'N' Stitches Quilt Show Sept. 22-23.

As always, the show is riot of colors and fabrics ranging from traditional "Wedding Ring" quilts to the most modern and impressionistic designs. It will include more than 200 never-before-seen quilts ranging from traditional to modern art quilts.

Every two years, the 90-plus members (they limit membership to a maximum of 100), take the opportunity to display their newest works. The quilts range from traditional quilt patterns to contemporary works in vivid colors.

"The quilt show does double or even triple duty," said guild member Lene Neesbye-Hansen. "It promotes quilting. It is a fundraiser for the club and continues the long American tradition of quilting."

The Evening Stars Guild is particularly pleased to be at the Lakewood 400 Antiques Market on Ga. 9 in Forsyth County this year. It provides plenty of display space, more than enough parking and easier access for the patrons and quilters, said Neesbye-Hansen.

A special part of the show is the premier of the 2012 Storybook Quilt Collection, which features quilts with matching children's books.

"There were originally 46 quilts in the Storybook Collection. This year, will have 30 new quilts," she said. "They help the children visualize the stories in a creative way as well as introduce them to the fabric arts."

There will also be a vendor mall with a wide variety of merchants who cater to those interested in fiber crafts of all sorts. Visitors may also purchase handmade items made by the guild membership at the StarWares Market. For more information, visit www.cesquiltguild.com.
