September 06, 2012ROSWELL, Ga. – The Roswell Recycling Center and Kiwanis Club of Historic Roswell will host tool collection drives on two Saturdays, Sept. 15 and Oct. 20, from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. at the recycling center, 11570 Maxwell Road, Alpharetta. New and gently used tools will be accepted.
This new partnership is a first for North Fulton. The Atlanta Community ToolBank is the only nonprofit in greater Atlanta dedicated to equipping the charitable sector with the tools needed to implement a diverse range of community improvement projects.
The ToolBank's unique tool lending resource supports more than 1,700 local service efforts annually, equipping almost 50,000 local volunteers for action and enabling fellow nonprofits to increase both frequency and scope of service.
"The Roswell Recycling Center is very excited to partner with the Roswell Kiwanis Club in their efforts to help the Atlanta Community ToolBank. We enjoy being part of the community," said Janet Liberman, environmental programs manager for the city of Roswell.
Founded in 1991, the Atlanta Community ToolBank operates the country's largest tool lending resource, focused on equipping local service groups to work on a wide range of community improvement projects. With over 160 different tool types available year-round, the Atlanta Community ToolBank has equipped more than 400,000 volunteers to date and serves as the charter affiliate and model agency for ToolBank USA and the movement to replicate the ToolBank model nationwide.
