August 08, 2012 JOHNS CREEK, Ga. — The Johns Creek High School PTSA was presented the first place Outstanding Local Unit Award for the second year in a row by the Georgia PTA during the annual convention and leadership training event in Athens. The award was presented based on the PTSA's leadership programs including Lunch and Learns, March Madness College Week, drug and alcohol awareness speakers during Red Ribbon Week, Drive Smart program and the National PTA Reflections program.
Additionally, the Johns Creek PTSA funds a college scholarship, provides volunteers throughout the school and hosted a community-wide candidates' forum last October.
"This is a monumental achievement for any PTA, especially one that is only three years old," said Johns Creek High School PTSA Co-President Sharyl Dawes.
