ROSWELL, Ga. The Roswell Friends of the Library has Sizzling Summer Book Sale on the grill, but the prices will cool you down.

The sale starts at the Roswell Library Saturday, July 21, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Roswell Friends founder and board member Nancy Puckett said four families donated whole libraries to add to the books already collected.

"We run the whole gamut of titles. Any subject you can imagine, I think we have it," Puckett said.

Children and adults will have plenty to choose from. Some books are bargain priced at four for $1. The sale will feature over 350 DVD movies and a huge selection of inspirational, mystery, science fiction and fantasy books. Collectibles, art book and coffee table books will also be featured.

The Roswell Friends book sales have become the gold standard for a well organized book sale, said Book Store Manager Carol Harrison.

Find current fiction at $1 from $2 for a hardback and paperbacks at four for $1.

They boast everything from A to Z: Art, Biography, Cooking, Decor, Essays, Fantasy, Gardening, History, Inspirational, Jokes, Knitting, LARGE PRINT, Mystery, Non-Fiction, Opera, Poetry, Quotables, Romance, Southern Authors, Travel, Unusual, Vintage, Westerns, Xceptional, Young Adult, Zoological.

"We had a most unusual donation this time. We got 222 boxes from Once and Again Bookstore. And another Friends member has an in with an estate sales agent and picked up more boxes," Harrison said. "It is going to be big sale."

In fact, the Roswell Friends have been "so blessed" with donations, that the group has been able to support other libraries with their sales.

You can still get invited to the early party Friday, July 20, 2-5 p.m. for the members-only preview. Just join the Friends -- $25 family; $15 individual; $10 seniors; and $5 student.

New members are welcome and may join the Friends of the Roswell Library at the door.

The Friends is an all-volunteer organization that last year raised $40,000 for the Roswell Library.

The Roswell Library is at 115 Norcross St. in Roswell. For information visit our website at Phone 770-640-3075 or email
