July 05, 2012 JOHNS CREEK, Ga. — Playing in their last tournament of the season, the 10U Johns Creek Cavaliers won their second Champs Wear the Rings tournament June 24 in Villa Rica. This championship bookended their earlier Champs Wear the Rings championship earned in February during their first tournament of the season.
Entering bracket play as the No. 1 seed, the Cavaliers scored five runs in their last at bat to win their quarterfinal game against the Home Plate Chilidogs-Clay. The Cavaliers continued their last-inning heroics in the semifinals by scoring four runs in their last at bat to beat the Alpharetta Titans 8-7. The Cavaliers then won the championship by beating the Fayette Redhawks 12-6, breaking the Redhawks' 20-game winning streak. View images.
