FORSYTH COUNTY, Ga. — It's time again to be a superhero.
The Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA) is holding their fifth annual 5K and 1K run on Saturday, Feb. 23 in Fowler Park at 4110 Carolene Way in Cumming.
The 5K will start at 8 a.m. and is $25 per person before Feb 16 and $35 per person after Feb 16. The 1K will start at 9 a.m. and is $10 per person before Feb. 16 and $15 per person after Feb 16. Registrants in the 5K may also participate in the 1K for free.
The Peachtree qualifier course will take place on the Big Creek Greenway and is a flat, fast course as well as the chip-timed race.
The theme for this year, as in the past, is superhero, and contestants are encouraged to wear costumes.
A contest will award prizes to the most creative superhero costumes.
Technical T-shirts are guaranteed for 5K runners registered by Feb. 16, and awards are given for the top three men and top three women contestants overall in addition to the top three in each age group.
The event raises money to train volunteer child advocates who help children embroiled in juvenile court.
