January 30, 2013 ROSWELL, Ga. – The Roswell Green Expo returns Saturday, Feb. 23 to Hembree Park from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. In its second year, the expo's mission is to educate residents about "green" practices they can incorporate into their lives and homes.
Children's activities include a special music performance of "Boogie Woogie Bullfrog" by local artist Jerry Zee and the opportunity to mix and mingle with costumed characters, including Captain Planet, "BAIR" from the Clean Air Campaign, "Bag Monster" from the One More Generation and "KiRBy" from Keep Roswell Beautiful.
Guests will also enjoy educational sessions, a "trashion" fashion show presented by local student groups and a green market full of vendors. Featured speakers and sessions include Dr. Ken Hughes from Skolex Bio-Technologies, Nikki Belmont from the Atlanta Audubon Society and a rain barrel workshop by Vicki Culbreth, environmental education coordinator for the city of Roswell.

"The expo is a great way for residents to learn about being green while having fun," said Janet Liberman, co-chair of the Roswell Green Expo and executive director of Keep Roswell Beautiful. "The workshops, entertainment and vendors are designed to actively engage community members while teaching simple ways to be sustainable and green. It is not to be missed."
Sponsors of the 2013 Roswell Green Expo include Gas South, Bank of North Georgia, Trex Company Inc., Domino's Pizza, city of Roswell and Keep Roswell Beautiful.
The expo is free and open to the public. Registration opens at 9:45 a.m.
Pre-registration is required for the rain barrel workshop as space is limited. Registration will open Jan. 22 at www.keeproswellbeautiful.org and will close when full.
