Sheriff Ted Paxton's address to Forsyth County citizens

(click for larger version)
January 02, 2013
As my tenure as Forsyth County Sheriff draws to a close, I want to thank you for allowing me the opportunity to serve you during the past 12 years.

With your support and trust, we were able to accomplish a lot during that time, and everything we did was done with your protection in mind.

For example, as promised during my first campaign, one of our first goals was for the sheriff's office to become accredited.

We accomplished that in 2003.

As a result, the county saves over $50,000 per year in liability insurance premiums. One side benefit of accreditation is that during my 12 years as sheriff, there was not one successful lawsuit filed against the sheriff's office. In fact, the sheriff's office was just re-accredited last month and was awarded "Accreditation with Excellence."

It has been my pleasure to see our sheriff's office grow into a professional law enforcement organization, one with vastly improved training and accountability to our citizens. On numerous occasions, our sheriff's office has been recognized nationwide for its professionalism.

Our Neighborhood Watch Program was greatly expanded and now has over 300 neighborhoods actively participating. We started a Business Watch Program and have seen it grow to cover virtually every Forsyth County business.

As a matter of fact, the National Sheriff's Association picked our Neighborhood Watch Program as a model for sheriffs across the country to follow.

Our Crime Scene Unit is second to none in the State of Georgia and has been recognized for its success in solving several high profile crimes in our area. In addition, our efforts to curtail impaired and dangerous drivers have won dozens of awards from the Governor's Office of Highway Safety and nationally.

I plan to remain in Forsyth County and I will remain active in the community. I'm not planning to ride off into the sunset. After all, in the general election, 47.6 percent of you who voted voiced your support for me. I will be here to help you in any way I can. Please feel free to call on me whenever I can be of assistance.

And to the men and women of the Forsyth County Sheriff's Office, thank you for your support and the excellent job you've done the past dozen years. You are true professionals in every sense of the word.

May God bless each and every one of you and keep you safe.

I've been living in Forsyth county for 18 years and the changes I've witnessed in law enforcement make me proud to tell people "I live in Forsyth County." After all the effort you put forth for the new jail and courthouse it's a shame you won't get the credit you deserve. Best of the best to you Ted.

Change could not have come soon enough. I am sure your extra time from the office of sheriff allows you some additional time to have a few extra whiskey"a day. You paraded around Forsyth like you were mighter than Jesus Christ and it was your on stupidest that slipped up on you and bit you in your own fancey ass.the shame of the situations is the fact you took a very honorable State office and totally disgraced the office of Sheriff and totally made a clown of yourself. You and I had several cordial matter, and I even reach out to you with a donation of more than $100,000.00 with no strings attached that would have benefited the Sheriffs Department, and each Forsyth County deputy. You were to busy and way to important to except my phone calls. Well I guess then you had your head up your ass, or a bottle in your hand. It is funny, perhaps now you have the time for a phone call but now it really does not matter, because you are now just a simple nobody.
It's funny how fast the folks for get who the hell you are, other than the drink sheriff pasted out at his girl friends house, and in your moment of disparity, you crash your vehicle into another county vehicle. Is that not called hit and run or leaving the scene of an accident. Oh sorry, I for got there for a minute, your Teddy Paxton. The state laws do not apply to you.

Enjoy your fat state pension.........sorry Ted, I just do not like HYPOCRITES. I SUPPOSE you understand what I am referring to, hu. if I was a gentleman, I suppose I would wish you the best of luck, but since I am relocating to my 2569 acre ranch in Montana, I really couldn't give a RATS tail how your retirement goes.
