If you and your family enjoy the challenge of geocaching, or even the fun of a good, old-fashioned treasure hunt, you will want to participate in Alpharetta's first ARBOR DAY GEO-HUNT. This contest is sponsored by the Alpharetta Natural Resource Commission. It will run from mid- January through the City's Arbor Day Celebration on March 9, 2013 at Rock Mill Park in Alpharetta.
What is a "GEO-HUNT?" It is similar to geocaching, in that participants will use GPS coordinates to search for hidden treasure boxes. However, unlike geocaching, this GEO-HUNT will offer participants a chance to learn about some of our City's most treasured natural resources... our trees! Participants will use the information that they learn during the course of the GEO-HUNT to enter the GEO-HUNT Contest for a chance to win valuable prizes. The GEO-HUNT is a fun and exciting activity that you and your family can enjoy doing together.
For more information about the ARBOR DAY GEO-HUNT and contest, be sure to check the City of Alpharetta website (www.alpharetta.ga.us) in early January.
