August 19, 2013ALPHARETTA, Ga. Alpharetta is home to the 100th location of Pollo Tropical. With a grand opening Aug. 16, the store manager, Larry Anderson, held a giveaway for a lucky winner to take a free trip for two to Miami. So long as they left immediately.
Atlanta resident Frances Yancey won. She called her husband to tell him the good news.
"Honey, go home and pack your bags," said Yancey. "We won."
Pollo Tropical is a Miami-based company with restaurants throughout the Southeast. They specialize in grilled chicken plates with a Caribbean flair. The Alpharetta location features beer and sangria drinks as well as table service. It is the fourth location in Atlanta and the second for Anderson, who will also open another location in Cumming in October.
"They are different and unique," Anderson said of Pollo Tropical. "They are a growing company."
The new location employs 65 people.
Alpharetta's Pollo Tropical is located at 10900 Haynes Bridge Road.
