May 28, 2013MILTON, Ga. — If this mayor thing doesn't work out, Milton Mayor Joe Lockwood can always sell clothing and accessories.
That is, if his wife, Dawn, and her business partner Jenny Glover let him.
On May 8, Dawn Lockwood and Glover opened Henry and Pearl apparel and gifts, a clothing and accessories store, 12660 Crabapple Road in Alpharetta, located next to the Olde Blind Dog.
"We have two Labs named Henry and Pearl and that's where they got the name for the store," Joe Lockwood said.
Co-owner Glover said she decided to open the store because the timing was right.
"Our children are older and we have the time now," Glover said.
Glover also said the store fills a need in the area.
"We bring brands to the community that are not available around here, unless you want to go to Buckhead," Glover said.
The store features clothing and accessories for men by Rowallen of Scotland, Vineyard Vines, Southern Tide and Peter Millar and for women by Gretchen Scott, Tara Michelle, Pure and Simple, Central Park West and others.
On June 13, the store will host a trunk show by jeans designer Henry and Belle.
A portion of the proceeds from this event will go to Children's Healthcare of Atlanta, Glover said.
The store is open from 10 a.m. until 6 p.m. Monday through Saturday.
