May 13, 2013SUWANEE, Ga. – On May 11, Artistic Adventures, an 11-year-old fine art and pottery instruction facility in South Forsyth opened Always a Festival, 1581 James Burgess Road.
Owner Jayme Teague said the mission behind the gallery is to provide a venue for fine art that is also affordable. Her vision is to be a gallery that benefits both the artist and the art consumer.
"People go to art festivals so they can better afford art without high gallery mark ups," Teague said.
The artists sell at festivals to avoid the same mark ups, she said, and Always a Festival puts the majority of sales (85 percent to 90 percent) in the artists' hands. By doing this, art prices are lower for collectors. The gallery offers contemporary and traditional fine paintings in oil, pastels, acrylics and mixed media, glass fusion, wood, textile art, pottery, blown glass and handcrafted jewelry.
