March 18, 2013ROSWELL, Ga. – A new shop on Historic Canton Street specializes in decorative and faux painting techniques.
Brush Stroke by Mary Anne opened its doors in Roswell, 1072 Canton Street, in January. On the third weekend each month, Mary Anne Merfeld, store owner, sells products at Cumming's Lakewood 400 market.
"I sell a specialty paint that has been selling like crazy since it hit the U.S. a couple of years ago," Merfeld said. "It is most specifically used to paint furniture, turning old outdated pieces into wonderful new decor."
In addition, Brush Stroke also has a studio space, where Merfeld teaches customers to apply the paint and the related products.
"My students range from the young generation who are discovering the beauty of 'vintage' furniture on up to the older generation who are retired and looking for a fun hobby."
