February 12, 2013 ALPHARETTA, Ga. — The Benton House of Alpharetta held its ribbon-cutting ceremony on Saturday, Feb. 2.
A new assisted living care center has 55 apartments that shed any preconceived notions of homes for the elderly, said Jessica Carroll-Miller, the spokeswoman for Benton House, 762 North Main Street in Alpharetta.
The one-story layout helps make everything convenient for residents, Carroll-Miller said.
"Guests will have five dining opportunities throughout the day, so that they get to choose when they want to eat rather than them having to work by a schedule we give to them," Carroll-Miller said. "Guests are also provided with a nurse within the facility and are provided with transportation to any sort of medical appointment they have."
The facility includes a spa, exercise room and an outdoor garden.
Also at the ribbon-cutting ceremony was Kyle Diekman, a partner on the project.
Diekman has 25 years of experience in senior housing and said Benton House will provide a quality living and lifestyle.
"We don't want them to feel as if they're taking a step backwards," Diekman said. "It's a smaller community to give everyone a more personal feel."
The facility also offers memory care services, providing residents with Alzheimer's additional specialized care.
