MILTON, Ga. — The housing market in Milton got a boost recently when Lennar construction added about 200 townhomes near Deerfield Parkway.

"For new homes, it's a seller's market," said David Kunis, with Lennar. "It's back to normal for new houses if they are in the right location."

Called "Deerfield Green," the development of townhomes was begun by Bowen Family Homes, who built 50 townhomes on the nearly 50-acre property on Webb Road between Deerfield Parkway and Morris Road. With the housing crash of the last few years, Bowen went under and Lennar scooped up the property with the goal of ultimately adding 180 townhomes.

Fifty-seven homes are in the current phase at Deerfield Green. The rest of the homes are expected to be built over the next three years. The neighborhood features an old barn prominently on Webb Road. They have sold 16 homes already.

Lennar is the fourth largest builder in Atlanta, with over 650 homes sold in the last two years. They also own the Peyton Farms neighborhood in Alpharetta.

East Cobb, North Fulton and South Forsyth are the best areas to build in Atlanta, he said, having a good mix of good schools, high property values, safe neighborhoods and easy access to Atlanta and the airport.

"It's the ideal location, unbelievable," Kunis said. "It's right in the middle of Milton's technology park. People working in the technology business want to live close to where they work."

Deerfield Green is located on Webb Road in Milton and has just opened its model home for viewing. For more information, visit www.lennar.com.

I PURCHASED SAME CONDO AT HANOVER POINTE THAT WAS IN FORECLOSURE. SO I GOT IT FOR WHAT I THINK IS A FAIR PRICE. PERSONALLY, THESE TOWN HOMES ARE ABOUT 30K OVER PRICE. MILTON ALSO HAS MUCH HIGHER TAXES THAN FORSYTH.
