November 13, 2012CUMMING, Ga. — Cumming Home Ministries, a local charity that provides transitional housing for homeless men in Forsyth County, will hold the grand opening of its new thrift store from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 17.
The CHM Thrift Store is located at 433 Canton Road, Suite 213, in Cumming, across from Ingles Supermarket.
"There is a great need for transitional housing for men in our community who find themselves without a roof over their head for various reasons," states Pastor Case Koolhaas, Senior Pastor at NewSong Community Church, which spawned Cumming Home Ministries as a separate non-profit organization about two years ago. "Folks in Forsyth County can help support this vital service by shopping at the store and also by donating unwanted items to the store."
"We are so excited to welcome the community to our new store," said Dave Allen, Board Chairman of Cumming Home Ministries. "We hope everyone will come and check us out and get a great free lunch prepared by our good friends at Taco Mexico."
Grand Opening festivities include free food between 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. courtesy of Taco Mexico Mexican Grill, 530 Lake Center Parkway in Cumming.
There will be balloons and face-painting for the children and free coffee for the adults. The store, fitting rooms and rest rooms are all wheel chair accessible.
