October 01, 2012 NEW ORLEANS — Appen Newspapers was recognized four times with awards in advertising and editorial during the 2012 annual Independent Free Paper Association and Southern Advertising Publishers Association conference in New Orleans, La.
With thousands of submissions every year, the contest is designated to acknowledge exceptional work in the fields of design, layout, editorial and online news presentation. Appen Newspapers placed first and second in the category of "Best Furniture Ad" for ad designs of Home Fashion Interiors in Alpharetta and Paul Martin Interiors in Cumming, respectively. Appen Newspapers also placed second in the highly regarded categories of "Front Page Design" and "Best Overall Website" for Northside Woman and NorthsideWoman.com. The four awards received at the conference brings Appen's total to nine national awards in 2012.
In April, the Association of Free Community Papers awarded five "Best of the Best" awards to the company, which publishes this publication.
