July 27, 2012 JOHNS CREEK, Ga. — Last year, more than 300 community members joined with North Fulton Hospital to raise almost $20,000 through the inaugural Power of Pink event.
This year, the charity luncheon, fashion show and silent auction to support Susan G. Komen for the Cure, Greater Atlanta Affiliate, returns for the second time.
The hospital hopes to surpass last year's impressive total at the event, being held Friday, Sept. 21 at the Country Club of the South in Johns Creek.
For the second time, Kimberly-Clark Health Care is the event's platinum sponsor.
"Last year, North Fulton Hospital, our sponsors and our community took a stand against breast cancer through this wonderful event," said Dr. Laura Rivers Pearson, Breast Surgeon and Medical Director of the North Fulton Hospital Breast Program. "Now we're ready to do it again. Together we can help to increase awareness and help our community understand the importance of screenings and physician examinations. Early detection can make all the difference."
