Afternoon walk nets $400K prize in Alpharetta

ALPHARETTA – A Gwinnett County daycare worker stumbled upon a shiny green prize from the Georgia Lottery during an afternoon walk.

Patsy Wehby of Duluth won a $400,000 top prize playing the instant game 20X The Money.

Wehby, 56, claimed her prize recently at the Georgia Lottery District Office in Duluth.

The mother of three was out for a walk when she stepped into Kroger No.0495, 12870 Ga. Highway 9 in Alpharetta, where she purchased her lucky ticket.

"I was looking crazy," she said. "I was crying. I called my daughter. It was a good day for me."

Although dazed, Wehby intends to "sit down and collect myself," she said. "My practical husband, Robert, will keep me grounded."
