July 09, 2012MILTON, Ga. – Bethany Bend Urgent Care and ATA Martial Arts threw a fun, yet educational party, with an emphasis on health, where the crowds came out to have fun despite the heat.
Children gathered under tents to play games, have their faces painted and enjoy a fresh grilled hot dog or hamburger. Dr. David Smith of Bethany Bend Urgent Care and his staff were also available to do quick medical checks, including blood pressure, height, weight and glucose tests.
"It's just nice to bring people out to enjoy themselves and let them know we are here for them and we are a convenient and time-saving alternative for their medical needs," said Melissa Smith, of Bethany Bend Urgent Care.
BBUC is a family medicine clinic that provides convenient and prompt treatment of non-life-threatening, acute injuries and minor illnesses for patients of all ages on a walk-in basis.
A Milton fire truck, a popular attraction with the kids, was on site to explore and get an up close and personal view. With the high heat index, the dunk tank had some spectators wishing they were the ones in the tank.
Several youngsters jumped in the inflatable jumping house and cooled off with shaved ice and old-fashioned lemonade.
