Alpharetta resident elected to Georgia Bankers Board

ATLANTA — R. Alan Thomes, market president at State Bank and Trust Company in Alpharetta, has been elected by his peers to serve a two-year term on the board of directors of the Georgia Bankers Association (GBA).
Thomes has a strong history of service to the GBA, having served four years on the Leadership GBA Executive Committee. He will take over as president of that group later this year. Thomes began his banking career in Georgia in 1999 and has been active with GBA since 2004. Thomes joined State Bank and Trust in July 2011.
Thomes currently serves as a board member of the Greater North Fulton Chamber of Commerce.
